Two-division UFC champion Alex Pereira has quickly become one of the biggest stars in the promotion. The reigning light heavyweight champion just signed a eight fight contract starting with the UFC 300 headliner.
“My relationship with the UFC is very good. I’m very grateful how the UFC and my management team get together. They’ve been doing great things together. I think the UFC also appreciates who I am because I’m a composed guy, I’m focused and I deliver,” Pereira said at the MMA Hour.
UFC 300 will mark the former two-division GLORY kickboxing champion eighth outing in the promotion.
He has already won the middleweight title and became one of nine fighters to win UFC titles in two divisions. If things goes well on UFC 300 he would like a quick turnaround and headlined UFC 301, exactly three weeks later.
“Since I was already talking to the UFC about UFC Brazil and it’s something that was already kind of agreed but didn’t happen, there’s this possibility,” Pereira recently said on his Youtube channel. “The UFC likes to see me fighting. I think that would be a good idea if all goes right. If I win and I’m not injured, I would ask for that. But one step at a time. The focus now is to win and defend this belt.”
