Retired legendary UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal recently hinted at a comeback to the octagon.

As the first-ever BMF champion, “Gamebred” is intrigued by fighting current champion Justin Gaethje some time down the road.

“The guy that he (Gaethje) beat to get that belt is a fucking stud, he’s a killer, Dustin Poirier. But if you put BMF against BMF, if you put me against Gaethje in there, I would break his fucking eye orbital, and I would fucking chop him up. Hopefully that can happen at some point,” Masvidal told Lowkick MMA.

When “Gamebred” won the belt back in 2019, the promotion never had the intention for him or anyone else to defend it.

“There never was any talk about it, at least for me, but now I think the temperature on that theme has changed. They’re doing things a little different, and Justin is very good,” Masvidal said.

Jorge Masvidal retired in April 2023

The two-time UFC welterweight title challenger Jorge Masvidal announced his retirement at UFC 287, after losing a three-round fight against Gilbert Burns on his hometurf in Florida.

In 2019, Masvidal became one of the biggest names in the UFC. With three highlight-reel wins, including a knockout of Darren Till, a record-setting flying knee knockout of Ben Askren and dominant TKO win against Nate Diaz to claim the inaugural BMF title at Madison Square Garden, he rose to stardom more than fifteen years into his pro MMA career.
