Swedish strawweight prospect Josefine “Thunder” Knutsson is forced to pull out of her upcoming UFC fight on March 2 due to a back injury. That’s according to Knutsson’s manager Majdi Shammas.
At the moment there is no word on when the undefeated Swede will be back in action again.
“As soon as she’s well we will book a new fight,” Shammas told Frontkick.
Knutsson was scheduled to face promotional newcomer Julia Polastri in the prelims of UFC Fight Night 238. The fight would have been the Swede’s second in the promotion.
Over the past few years, Josefine Knutsson has become one of the absolute hottest MMA prospects in Europe with an impressive string of wins.
The former Muay Thai and kickboxing champ made her MMA professional debut in late 2021 after just one amateur fight. About two years later “Thunder” made her first appearance in the UFC octagon with a dominant win against Marnic Mann.
The Swede was the better fighter both on the feet and on the mat and finally stood as the winner with 30–24, 30–25, 30–27 on the scorecards.
Knutsson has a 7-0 record as a professional MMA fighter.
