Last week it was revealed that Jonathan Pearce was forced to pull oit of his fight against Bryce Mitchell at UFC 288 due to an injury.
The promotion has found a replacement for Pearce as they recently announced that No. 10 ranked Movsar Evloev will step in on short-notice to face Mitchell in a featherweight main card bout.
Evloev is undefeated as a professional MMA fighter with a record of 16-0, 6-0 in the UFC. He comes from a unanimous decision against Dan Ige in June last year.
UFC 288 is headlined by a bantamweight title fight between reigning champion Aljamain Sterling and former two-division champion Henry “Triple-C” Cejudo.
The strawweight fight between former champion Jessica Andrade and Yan Xiaonan will serve as the new co-main event, after the lightweight fight between Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush was scratched from the fight card.
