The highly anticipated UFC 288 lightweight co-main event between Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush is reportedly canceled.
According to a recent report by ESPN, Oliveira was forced to pull out due to an undisclosed injury. UFC is not seeking a replacement to fight Dariush, but will reschedule the fight for a later date.
The loss of the co-main event is the second tough blow to the UFC 288 main card in the last couple of days.
On Thursday, it was reported that Jonathan Pearce withdrew from his scheduled featherweight main card fight with Bryce Mitchell. The promotion is currently looking for a replacement for Mitchell.
UFC 288 takes place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on May 6, and is headlined by a bantamweight title fight between champion Aljamain Sterling and former champ Henry Cejudo.
