The pivotal lightweight matchup between top ranked Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush is now rebooked for UFC 289 in Canada. The fight is expected to serve as the co-main event of the stacked card.
UFC president Dana White officially announced the matchup Thursday on Instagram.
“I love this fight, and it has huge title implications in the lightweight division,” White said.
The winner of the fight will be in a good position to challenge champion Islam Makhachev for the lightweight strap.
UFC 289 takes place June 10 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.
The card is headlined by a women’s bantamweight title bout between reigning champion Amanda Nunes and former champion Julianna Pena. This will be the third time the rivals clashes for the belt.
The card also features fighters like Stephen Thompson, Dan Ige and Michel Pereira.
