Former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones just made a huge statement in his comeback as he submitted Cyril Gane in the first round to become the heavyweight champion of the world.

UFC president Dana White was more than impressed by Jones’ performance at UFC 285, claiming that the 35-year-old is the best fighter to ever compete in the octagon.

“He is the level. I don’t know if there is any higher level than Jon Jones” White said at the UFC 285 post-fight press conference.

“I never denied that this guy is the best ever.”

Worried about Jon Jones

However, Jones’ personal life has been filled with scandals, including a hit-and-run conviction, domestic violence arrest and driving under the influence.

The UFC president admitted he is still concerned about Jones mental health, and when he heard that the champion was throwing an afterparty to celebrate the title win, White claimed it worried him.

“It does a little bit, yes, I’m not going to lie. I told Hunter (Campbell) ‘charter a fucking plane and get him back to New Mexico asap’. I didn’t know he had a after party,” White said.

Wants Stipe Miocic next

After the quick win at UFC 285, the newly crowned champion called out former champ Stipe Miocic.

“One thing I know about the UFC is that they give the fans what they want to see,” Jones said in the post fight interview. “I want you real bad.”

The UFC president really seemed to like the idea about the heavyweight superfight, even though he didn’t seem sure it would ever materialize.

“He wants to fight Stipe, he’s interested in that fight. If that fight happens, awesome, we get to see this talented freak perform again,” White said.
