Swedish bantamweight Pannie Kianzad put on a good fight against top ranked contender Ketlen Vieira at UFC London this past Saturday. Even though ”Banzai” ended the fight with brutal ground-and-pound, she lost the bout via unanimous decision with 29-28 on all three judges’ scorecards.
In a recent Instagram post, Kianzad commented on the tough loss.
”Hey guys, I’m bummed, disappointed I couldn’t do a better fight and in the end it was a little too late. My team did a good job of getting me ready for this fight but at fight night I couldn’t get the job done. It’s a very mixed emotion and I know loosing it’s a part of being an athlete and ending up not getting your hand raised making u maybe think thoughts that are not really true and what other people think of u. I just want to thank my team back at home, training partners, coaches, managers, friends, family, sponsors that’s been with me for so long and staying by my side in good times and bad.
Fighting the best girls in the world isn’t an easy task and the journey and hard work never stops no matter the results. Appreciating every second on the UFC cage, a lot of people dream of fighting on the biggest stage of the world, not many people get to do it , so I’m enjoying every moment.”
