Ex-strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and middleweight has notified the UFC of her retirement from MMA.
Jedrzejczyk has been retired since 2022 but remained part of the promotion’s anti-doping program until now.
The 35-year-old retires with a 16-5 overall pro MMA record, including five strawweight title defenses. She won the title as she defeated Carla Esparza via a second-round TKO.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk competed in Muay Thai and kickboxing for a decade, winning six IFMA world medals and four IFMA European championships.
During her pro Muay Thai career she won five world titles including the WKN World Championship, J Girls Championship, WBKF Championship, WKF European Championship, and the WMC Championship.
UFC middleweight veteran Ian Heinisch also notified the promotion of his retirement from the sport.
The 35-year-old left the UFC with a promotional record of 3-4. Heinisch started his pro MMA career in 2015 and fought under various promotions during his active years.
“I’m making the decision right now to take a step back and get out of the USADA pool, do some peptides, and some other treatments and heal,” Heinisch said about the decision.
