A possible super fight has emerged for the historic UFC 300 card on April 13!
Strawweight champion Zhang Weili recently took to social media to call out reigning flyweight champion Alexa Grasso for a women’s superfight.
“Hi champion. Maybe the fans wants to see us fight at UFC 300,” Weili wrote on a recent Grasso post on Instagram.
The Mexican flyweight champ was quick to respond.
“I admire you so much! And I’d love to defend my title with you,” Grasso wrote. “Would you make 125?”
“Let’s gooooo champion,” Weili said. “I can go up to 125. (Dana White) Let’s make it happen.”
Grasso vs Weili would be a massive fight
Alexa Grasso defeated Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 285 in March to win the flyweight strap. The even rematch turned out to be a split draw, which means the Mexican retained the title.
Zhang Weili won her second strawweight title when she submitted Carla Esparza in November last year. She then defended the strap against Amanda Lemos at UFC 292 in August.
The historic UFC 300 will take place April 13 at T-Mobile Arena. So far no fights has been announced, but MMA veteran Jim Miller will fight on the card.
Miller will make history as the only fighter to compete at UFC 100, UFC 200, and UFC 300.
