Former two-division champion Henry “Tripe C” Cejudo will return to UFC action in February next year At UFC 298 he will take on No. 2 ranked Merab Dvalishvili.
The fight will quite possibly serve as a potential title eliminator in the stacked bantamweight division. Cejud announced the fight Sunday on his YouTube channel.
Dvalishvili rides a nine-fight winning streak that dates back to April 2018. During the past five years he defeated top fighters like Petr Yan, Jose Aldo and Marlon Moraes.
Cejudo is coming off a title fight loss to then-champ Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288 in May. The fight was his first in three years after retering on May 9, 2020.
UFC 298 will take place at place at Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The card will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between reigning champion Alexander Volkanovski and rising star Ilia Topuria.
