Swedish middleweight veteran Jack “The Joker” Hermansson will return for a interesting five-rounder early next year. He will face rising star Joe Pyfer in the latters first UFC main event, set for February 10 at the Apex in Las Vegas.
The fight will be Hermansson’s first in almost 14 months and the absolute biggest name so far for his 27-year-old American opponent.
Pyfer came to the UFC last year after an impressive performance against Ozzy Diaz at Dana White’s Contender Series. In the world’s leading MMA promotion he continued to impress with three straight stoppage wins. He holds a record of 14-2.
Hermansson will try to get back into the win column after a tough second-round TKO loss to Roman Dolidze in December last year.
The 35-year-old has alternated losses and wins his past eight bouts, with wins coming against the likes of Chris Curtis, Edmen Shahbazyan and Kelvin Gastelum.
Jack Hermansson is currently ranked at No. 10 in the stacked middleweight division, which had no fewer than three champions over the last 12 months.
At the moment, no other fights are announced for the February 10 UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas.
