Former UFC title holder Jamahal Hill faces one misdemeanor count of aggravated domestic violence after he allegedly injured his older brother during a recent physical altercation.
The hearing is scheduled for January 2024, but in a recent video on his YouTube channel, the former champion commented on the situation.
“At this time, it’s an open case. I’ve been advised not to speak on it, which I know not to speak on it. I just can’t wait for the truth to be told in court. I will wait for that day, and I look forward to that day,” Hill said on his YouTube channel.
“The people who know me and know my character and truly, truly rock with me and know who I am, hold on to that and stay true to that. That’s all I’m gonna say on that.”
Jamahal Hill has not competed since January 21, when he won the light heavyweight title against Glover Teixeira at UFC 283 in Brazil.
The 32-year-old vacated the title in July after he suffered an Achilles tendon tear. Hill is expected to return to the octagon in the first half of 2024, and could very well face newly crowned light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira in his comeback fight.
