Light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka will make his first title defence in a rematch with Glover Teixeira at UFC 282 – the promotion’s final pay-per-view event of the year – on December 10. The title bout was first reported by The Underground.
Prochazka and Teixeira fought in a Fight of the Year contender at UFC 275 in June, where Prochazka was able to pull off a fifth-round submission win with just 30 seconds left of the fight.
In December, the 42-year-old Brazilian Teixeira has the chance of becoming a two-time world champion since he claimed the light heavyweight title from Jan Blachowicz in October last year.
UFC 282 will be a great night for the light heavyweight division.
Top ranked Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev will square off at the main card, as well as Swedish UFC veteran Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson who will take on Ovince Saint Preux.
