It was recently announced that UFC superstar Conor McGregor will make his long-awaited return to the Octagon to take on Michael Chandler on June 29.
McGregor’s long-time coach John Kavanagh is confident in his fighter – even if the Irishman has many things going on outside the gym.
“I see similarities to the Mendes fight,” Kavanagh told Severe MMA. “I’d be surprised if it can go two rounds. I’d be surprised. He just hits too hard, he’s too sharp. Is there going to be scrappiness, and a few takedowns and stuff? Maybe. But every round starts on the feet, and his ability to get back there is underestimated. I’d be surprised if we see two rounds.”
It was recently reported by the Irish Mirror that Conor McGregor is to appear in court after two women are suing him. The two claimed to have been injured by the former two-division champion back in 2018, even though no charges were brought on.
The Irish fighter is denying all of the allegations against him.
The McGregor vs. Chandler bout will headline this year’s edition of International Fight Week.
