Dana White recently said that the promotion is looking to book a UFC event in Sweden, and now it looks like the president could have his main event delivered on a silver platter.

In a recent interview with SVT Sport, the former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman claimed he wants to take on No. 3 ranked Khamzat Chimaev in a huge stadium show in Sweden, if “Borz” can make it down to welterweight.

“I don’t think he’s going to make it back down to that weight class, so it’s going to be a bit difficult, but if he does I would love to. I’ve done everything there is to do in this sport, headlined major, major events,” Usman said prior to the title fight at UFC 286.

“The one thing I’m missing is maybe a stadium show. Just put on one of the most massive events. You know, being the next guy to be able to go in there and put on a performance for Sweden, against Khamzat, would be a tremendous one.”

Kamaru Usman wants to fight at Tele2 Arena

The 35-year old welterweight told SVT Sport that he wants the fight to take place in Stockholm, at the massive Tele2 Arena. The arena holds a crowd of 30 000 people and is the very same venue that Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson headlined when he faced Anthony Johnson back in 2015.

Usman lost yesterday’s title bout against Leon Edwards at UFC 286 in London. Khamzat Chimaev last fought at UFC 279 in Las Vegas, when he defeated Kevin Holland via a first-round submission.
