Khabib ghosted by UFC president Dana White: ”He don’t respond”

MMA superstar Khabib Nurmagomedov was ghosted by UFC president Dana White over the recent drama between lightweight champ Charles Oliveira and top contender Islam Makhachev.
”The Eagle” recalls how he reached out to White about giving the next title shot to his friend and training partner in Makhachev – without getting a response.
“I send a message like, ‘No way some other guy have to fight for the title.’ I said something like similar message but he don’t respond. I think he was busy maybe. This first time. It’s okay, everybody make mistake,” Khabib said (h/t MMAmania).

Islam Makhachev was set to face top ranked Beneil Dariush earlier this spring, but the former got injured and was replaced by unranked Bobby Green, who was handily defeated by Makhachev.
According to ”The Eagle”, Makhachev won’t be waiting for Dariush to come back from injury. In fact, Khabib feels that his teammate is owed the next title shot at this point – regardless of what Dana White has to say.
“If you wanna come back after injury, fight with someone like top guys, then fight for the title,” Nurmagomedov said. “Beneil have to fight contender fight, Islam have to fight for the title versus Charles Oliveira. This is my opinion. This is fair. 11 win streak vs. 10 win streak, Let them fight.”
