Khamzat Chimaev has barely done any media since his big win against former title contender Gilbert Burns at UFC 273 back in April.
But when “Borz” was in attendance at last weekends Superior Challenge 24 MMA event in Stockholm, we caught up with the rising star.
In our quick chat, we naturally started talking about future opponents and his next move. The last few days, Khamzat Chimaev has started targeting fights against both Belal Muhammad and Nate Diaz. Speaking exclusively Frontkick, he also mentioned Colby Covington – and suggested that the No. 1 ranked welterweight has been avoiding him despite getting called out.
“We’ll see what happens. Dana [White] said Nate Diaz, Colby [Covington] and Colby, he didn’t answer when I said to him let’s fight. I wait for somebody, we’ll see. I’m ready for everybody,” Khamzat Chimaev told Frontkick.
Khamzat Chimaev doesn’t care about rankings: “I come for everybody”
Khamzat Chimaev also made clear that his mindset and willingness to fight anyone remains the same despite now being ranked amongst the top three welterweights in the world. “Borz” doesn’t really care about rankings – he just loves to fight.
“I come for everybody as I said, you know? I love to fight. It doesn’t matter if somebody is at the top or not, I just love to fight, he said.
