UFC fighter Lerone Murphy never suffered defeat in the cage and has an impressive resume with seven KO’s in 12 bouts.

What’s even more impressive is that the 31-year-old Brit, who goes by the name “The Miracle”, cheated death not once, but twice.

In May 2013, Lerone was shot with three bullets outside a barber shop in Manchester, England. He was hit once in the face and twice in the neck, but miraculously survived the attack.

Nine years later, in May 2022, Murphy was hit by a speeding car when bicycling. He suffered bad head injuries and was close to bleeding out before the ambulance took him to a hospital.

“I thought it was game over,” Murphy recently said about the accident. “I didn’t think I’d be back here anyway, especially not so soon. Doctors were saying all sorts of stuff like whatever, like fighting’s not good now and what not. It was heartbreaking at the time, but I’ve got good people around me, good friends, and I just stayed on course.”

Lerone Murphy can get his 12th pro win on Saturday

On Saturday, Murphy returns for his fifth bout in the promotion as he faces Gabriel Santos at UFC 286 in London. This will be the first time he competes after the terrible accident.

“I just want to fight,” Murphy said. “I’ve been out for a bit, I just want to fight. I just want to compete.”

In his last fight, in October 2021, he defeated Makwan “Mr. Finland” Amirkhan via a second-round KO.
