With her flawless UFC record and excellent striking, Manon ”The Beast” Fiorot has quickly become one of the absolute top names in the flyweight division.
After beating Katlyn Chookagian at UFC 280 in October, the French 32-year-old took over the No. 1 spot on the official rankings, and a fight against dominant champion Valentina Shevchenko seems like the logical next step.
Talking to Frontkick, Fiorot’s manager Majdi Shammas commented on her current status and gave an update on what the future holds for ”The Beast”.
”She hurt her ACL in the first round against Katlyn Chookagian. She’s the No. 1 ranked girl as well so we’re going to see when she’s back. She’s in line for the title, or we’re going to fight whoever is the fight before, we don’t mind having a fight before that. So, maybe Alexa Grasso,” Shammas said.
Another possible fight for Fiorot is the former two-time strawweight champion Rose Namajunas, who is rumored to move up to flyweight after her recent title loss.
”The one we want to welcome up, because I heard she’s changing weight, is Rose. So that’s a fight Manon really wants, against Rose,” Shammas said.
After winning the UAE Warriors flyweight title in November 2020, Manon Fiorot signed with UFC and made her promotional debut in January 2021 with a TKO against Victoria Leonardo.
Two years after the debut, she’s still undefeated after five fights in the promotion, and holds a professional MMA record of 10-1.
