A previously unseen video, released by YouTube channel Real World Police, shows UFC star Jorge Masvidal’s arrest proceedings after an incident in which he allegedly attacked rival welterweight fighter Colby Covington.
The alleged attack took place outside of a restaurant in Miami Beach, Florida, on March 22.
Jorge Masvidal clashed with Colby Covington at UFC 272
Former friends, now bitter enemies, Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington fought in the main event of UFC 272 that took place on March 5 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
After five rounds, the former welterweight interim titleholder Covington stood as the winner via unanimous decision, with 49–46, 50–44, 50–45 on the judges’ scorecards.
A few weeks after the heated main event bout it was reported that Masvidal had allegedly assaulted Covington in Miami Beach. Covington allegedly suffered a broken tooth after being hit in the face twice.
Jorge Masvidal has a pre-trial hearing set for February 15, with an expected trial date of February 27. If the court finds him guilty, the 38-year-old could be senctenced to up to 15 years in prison, according to MMA Junkie.
