Nick Diaz and Tony Ferguson return for fights in Abu Dhabi

Nick Diaz and Tony Ferguson will be stepping into the octagon once again.

The return of the legendary fan favorites was announced by UFC CEO Dana White. Both fighters will compete on August 3 at UFC on ABC 7 from Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

Nick Diaz will take on Vicente Luque

Nick Diaz will face Vicente Luque in a welterweight five-round co-main event. The 40-year-old made his comeback against Robbie Lawler in 2021. His last win came against B.J. Penn in 2011.

Tony Ferguson matches up with welterweight Michael Chiesa on the main card. He last fought in December when he lost a unanimous decision to Paddy Pimblett. The UFC CEO said that the fight against Chiesa “could be” Ferguson’s final fight.

Announced fights for UFC on ABC 7

The UFC on ABC 7 fight card is a stacked one for sure. In the main event, bantamweight contenders Cory Sandhagen and Uman Nurmagomedov will clash in a five-rounder.

• Bantamweight bout: Cory Sandhagen vs. Umar Nurmagomedov
• Welterweight bout: Nick Diaz vs. Vicente Luque
• Welterweight bout: Michael Chiesa vs. Tony Ferguson
• Bantamweight bout: Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Marlon Vera
• Strawweight bout: Mackenzie Dern vs. Loopy Godinez
• Light heavyweight bout: Alonzo Menifield vs. Azamat Murzakanov
