Former bantamweight Petr Yan has been on the wrong end of razor-thin decisions in his two last fights. At UFC 273 in April, he lost via decision to Aljamain Sterling, and last Saturday he lost via split decision to Sean O’Malley.

According to UFC commentator Daniel Cormier, the Russian is so angry with the decisions that he might leave the promotion.

“Petr Yan is so disappointed in this decision. Petr Yan is so disappointed in the decision against Aljo that I’m hearing word that this guy may want to look at something different down the line in terms of his career because he just does not feel like maybe the organization doesn’t have his back. It’s crazy,” Cormier said on podcast DC & RC.

Petr Yan vs. Sean O’Malley official scorecards

The outcome of the fight between O’Malley and Yan has been debated by fans and experts, with many calling it the biggest robbery of the year. However, one might ask if a split decision in an even fight can be considered a robbery.

During the three-round bout, Yan took down “Sugar” six times, with almost six minutes of ground control, while O’Malley had the advantage in significant strikes (84-58) and cut the Russian badly.

“It was one of those razor thin close fights. I could see people saying Yan won the fight and I could see people saying O’Malley won the fight,” UFC president Dana White said at the post-fight press conference.
