In a recent interview with The MMA Hour, UFC star Khamzat Chimaev claimed to have defeated former light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka in a sparring session back at All Stars Training Center in Stockholm, Sweden.
The sparring was supposed to have happened a few years back, before the two competed in the UFC.
“When he was fighting Rizin and I was fighting Brave. We were training together in the gym, we sparred, hard sparring,” Chimaev said. “I beat him many times. He became a champ, how I don’t know, maybe it’s too bad fighters in this division.”
Fires back at Khamzat: “I will not take it lightly”
In a recent Instagram story, the former light heavyweight champion fired back at Khamzat Chimaev.
“Which person needs to speak again and again about this four years old information? Gym inside information,” Prochazka said (via MMA Orbit). “When we will meet next time, in the cage, I will show you my true power. I will not take it lightly more. Don’t speak about others too much. Love yourself more.”
Prochazka is currently recovering from a shoulder injury. His last fight was in June 2023, when he defeated Glover Teixeira to win the light heavyweight belt.
