At UFC 273 in April, rising star Khamzat Chimaev clashed with former title challenger Gilbert Burns in what turned out to be a back-and-forth battle that the fans will remember for a long time.
After three bloody rounds, Chimaev stood as the winner by unanimous decision with 29–28 on all judges’ scorecards. The exciting bout won the Fight of the Night bonus, and will for sure stand as a top candidate for the 2022 Fight of the Year.
Now you can re-watch the epic fight in the player below!
On September 10, Khamzat Chimaev will be back in action to face the seasoned veteran Nate Diaz at UFC 279 in Las Vegas. This will be Khamzat’s first five-round fight in the UFC.
Chimaevs last opponent, Gilbert Burns, thinks that the Swede will still be undefeated when the fight is over.
“I don’t think Nate has a chance in that fight,” Burns said at the UFC Hall of Fame red carpet a while back.
However, Khamzat’s head coach at Allstars Training Center, Andreas Michael, would never overlook a veteran opponent like Nate Diaz.
“This is not an easy fight, absolutely not,” Michaels recently told The Mac Life.
