Top 10 ranked middleweights Roman Dolidze and Marvin Vettori just kicked off the UFC 286 main card.
In the first round, both fighters traded on the feet. Vettori had success with leg kicks while Dolidze landed harder punches. In the last minute, the Georgian put on pressure, landing heavy right hands.
Round two started in the same fashion. Vettori was the busier striker, landing both kicks and punches while Dolidze relied on his power, throwing on punch at the time.
In the back and forth third round, Dolidze landed a few big shots before cracking Vettori with a heavy right hand. In the latter part of the round, Vettori landed good punches.
After the final bell, the Italian stood as the winner via unanimous decision.
“Such a proud moment for me now,” Vettori said in the post-fight press conference. “I keep on improving my game.”
With the performance, Marvin Vettori is back in the win column after losing to Robert Whittaker in his last outing. The “Italian Dream” claimed to be ready for anyone in the division.
