UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has pretty much beaten every top name in the division at least once.
That’s the reason he wants top ranked welterweight Khamzat Chimaev to beat Paulo Costa on October 21 at UFC 294.
“I don’t know who’s going to win but I think if I’m favoring, I might be favoring Khamzat a little bit more,” Adesanya told Stake.com. “Because I like new blood.”
However, ”The Last Stylebender” does not see Costa as an easy fight for Chimaev, even though ”Borz” is undefeated as a pro with 11-0, ten by stoppage.
“I just made Paulo look easy but trust me, he’s a hard fight. He’s a hard fight but I made him look easy. But I think I’m rooting for Khamzat more in that fight.”

Israel Adesanya fights for the title at UFC 293
On Saturday September 9, Adesanya will take on Sean Strickland with his middleweight title on the line.
The fight will be his sixth defense in total, and his first since winning back the title from Alex Pereira in April.
Top ranked middleweight Jared Cannonier is in Sydney to serve as the backup for the main event title bout between the champion and Strickland at UFC 293.
In case ”The Killa Gorilla’s” services are needed on Saturday, it will be the second time he fights for the belt, as he challenged Adesanya back in July 2022.
