No 11. ranked Ferguson has four-straight losses, all coming against top ranked opponents. In his last fight at UFC 274, he was knocked out by a vicious front kick from Michael Chandler. Before that, he lost to Beneil Dariush, Charles “do Bronx” Oliveira and Justin Gaethje.
Tony Ferguson has recently been called out by No. 13 ranked Dan Hooker who seemed eager to compete in the lightweight division again. “The Hangman” is looking to fight the former interim champion at UFC 281 in November.
“Only one can continue, only one can keep going forward. But that’s a big fight, Tony’s a big fight. A win for either one of us puts the other one right back in the mix, right? And that’s where you want to be,” Hooker recently said in an interview with Submission Radio.
Hooker has one win in his last five outings, all against top opponents in the lightweight and featherweight division. His last win was a unanimous decision against Nasrat Haqparast in September last year.
