UFC 277 just took place at American Airlines Center in Dallas. In the main event, Amanda Nunes won back her bantamweight title with a dominant performance against Julianna Peña. In the end, she stood as the winner with 50-45, 50-44 and 50-43 on the scorecards.
“We are making history again,” Nunes told Joe Rogan in the post-fight interview.
Nunes started the fight in a southpaw stance and floored her opponent three times in the second round. In the three last rounds the two rivals spent most time on the mat where Nunes landed heavy ground-and-pound while Peña was threatening with submission attempts.
“This is the best day ever in my life,” Nunes said.
In the co-main event, Brandon Moreno defeated Kai-Kara-France and became the new UFC interim flyweight champion. After two even rounds, Moreno landed a perfect left kick to the liver that sent Kara-France to the canvas, and followed up with heavy ground-and-pound until the referee stopped the fight.
The Fight of the Night bonus went to Brandon Moreno and Kai Kara-France, while Drew Dober and Alexandre Pantoja was awarded with the Performance of The Night bonuses for their finishes.
