On Saturday UFC returns with their best card of the year at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The card is headlined by a massive lightweight title bout between Charles “do Bronx” Oliveira and Islam Makhachev.
In the commentary booth we will find the widely popular Jon Anik, who will be leading the card alongside commentators, and former UFC fighters, Paul Felder and Daniel Cormier.
However, Cormier’s participation at the card has been debated by fans, and some UFC fighters as well, since he is closely connected to Makhachev. “DC” has been accused of being biased when commentating the top ranked lightweight’s fights before, by lightweight contender Justin Gaethje, among others.
The UFC 280 viewers will also see veteran reporter Megan Olivi take care of the backstage interviews with fighters competing on the stacked card.
Besides the highly anticipated lightweight title fight, we will see a co-main event between bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling and former two-time champion T.J. Dillashaw.
The card also features an exciting bantamweight fight where fan favorite Sean O’Malley squares off with former champion Petr Yan. UFC 280 also features a fight between top ranked lightweights Beneil Dariush and Mateusz Gamrot, as well as welterweight bout between No. 5 ranked Belal Muhammad and No. 8 ranked Sean Brady.
