UFC 287 just took place in Miami, Florida, and lived up to the hype and more.

In the main event, Israel Adesanya finally defeated his long-time kickboxing and MMA rival Alex Pereria to retake the middleweight title.

After a competitive and measured first round where both fighters traded kicks, things really started to heat up in the second.

When Pereria pressed his opponent against the cage in the last minute of the round, throwing bombs, Adesanya countered with a right hand from hell that rocked the Brazilian, just to floor him with another heavy right hand.

And just like that, the fight was over.

“People, Earth, I need to say something. I hope everyone can feel this level of happiness one time of your life,” Adesanya said. “They say revenge is sweet, and I got a sweeth tooth.”

Gilbert Burns vs. Jorge Masvidal

In the welterweight co-main event, Gilbert Burns defeated Jorge Masvidal via unanimous decision after three tough rounds.

After the fight MMA veteran “Gamebred” decided to retire from the sport in front of his home town crowd.

“20 years, fifty-some fights. I don’t feel the same when I get in here no more,” Masvidal said. “I’m good for life now.”

50 000 dollar post-fight bonuses

The 50 000 dollar Fight of the Night bonus went to Kelvin Gastelum and Chris Curtis.

The Performance of the Night bonuses went to Rob Font and Israel Adesanya.
