UFC 288 just took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

In the main event, Aljamain Sterling clashed with former two-division champion Henry Cejudo, who returned after three years.

The bantamweights delivered a high pace fight right from the start. Sterling used his size and reach advantage well during the fight, as he came out with all guys blazing, landing heavy kicks from the start.

Cejudo fought a great fight, challenging the champion both on the feet and the ground, but in the end Sterling stood as the winner via split decision with 48-47, 47-48 and 48-47 on the cards

“Henry is a fucking dog and a legend,” Sterling said afterwards and called out “Sugar” Sean O’Malley who entered the octagon to square off with the champion.

“You better look better than that,” O’Malley said.

Muhammad wins welterweight co-main event

In the welterweight co-main event, Gilbert Burns clashed with Belal Muhammad in a five round title eliminator bout.

Burns hurted his left arm in the beginning of the fight and a calculated Muhammad won the fight via unanimous decision with 50-45, 49-46 and 49-46 on the scorecards.

Muhammad has not lost a fight since 2019 and is 9-0-1 in his last ten fights.
