UFC 302: Makhachev vs. Poirier will take place on June 1 at the Prudential Center, in Newark, New Jersey.

In the lightweight main event, reigning champion Islam Makhachev will take on former interim champion, and former two-time title challenger, Dustin Poirier.

The fight marks Makhachev’s third title defense since winning the belt in October 2022.

Poirier first challenged Khabib Nurmagomodov for the lightweight title back in 2019. In his second attempt, he lost to Charles Olivieria in 2021.

Middleweight co-main event

In the co-main middleweight event, former champion Sean Strickland will take on Brazilian fan favorite Paulo Costa. Both fighters come from losses and are in big need to win to get back in the title mix.
