UFC was rumored to return to Sweden for an event in November. However, according to Swedish news site SVT Sport, the UFC vice president Dave Shaw told them that a Swedish event is now on the agenda for 2023 instead.
There is no solid information about where and when the event might take place, and furthermore there are no bouts confirmed or even rumoured for the card. However, with the amount of talented fighters Sweden has, the card would no doubt be stacked.
So far the organization has visited Sweden six times. The first event, in April 2014, was headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson and Thiago Silva. A fight that Gustafsson won via unanimous decision.
Last time the organization visited Sweden was in 2019. In event featured fighters like “The Mauler”, Anthony Smith, Daniel Teymur and Jimi Manuwa.
