UFC scraps fight after fighter getting arrested for kidnapping in Thailand

Following the news of Khusein Askhabov’s in Thailand, the UFC has decided to cancel his next fight.

The UFC fighter and his twin brother was recently arrested in relation to an alleged kidnapping, beating and robbery of a man, according to reports from the Phuket News.

The victim was allegedly robbed of expensive watches, computers, phones and $43,000 in cash.

“UFC is aware of the recent arrest and allegations regarding Khusein Askhabov,” the UFC said about the situation in a statement.

“The organization will continue to gather additional details regarding the incident. UFC will allow the legal process to play out before making any additional statements, however, his scheduled fight on Oct. 7 has been canceled.”

Khusein Askhabov is 23-1

Khusein Askhabov was booked to fight Daniel Pineda in a featherweight matchup on October  7 in Las Vegas.

He has a professional record of 23-1, with his sole loss coming in his UFC debut back in February.
