UFC light heavyweight contender Volkan ”No Time” Oezdemir was recently involved in a car crash that could have ended really bad.
In the middle of fight camp for the UFC Paris contest against Bogdan Guskov, the former light heavyweight title challenger was hit by a car as he was taking a Uber home from a UFC health check.
”The Uber hit the break and I looked, you know, ’what the fuck happened’, I was on my phone, headphones on, the guy hit the break and I look and there’s a bunch of cars stopping on the highway. I was like ’it’s fine’, you know, he stopped at the right time, and the next thing I know I woke up somebody tried to open the door like this,” Oezdemir told Vidar Redmond at Combat Arts.
The 34-year-old won the fight against Bogdan Guskov via a quick first-round submission at UFC Paris on September 23. Oezdemir was scheduled to face Azamat Murzakanov who pulled out of the fight due to reasons unknown.
”No Time” is 2-3 in his last five UFC outings, all against absolute top level opponents like Jiri Prochazka and Magomed Ankalaev. All in all he is 19-7 as a professional MMA fighter and made his UFC debut back in February 2017.
