UFC’s interim featherweight champion Yair Rodriguez is up for his biggest fight in his career as he will take on reigning champion Alexander Volkanovski in a title unification bout on Saturday.

Facing a fighter like Volkanovski, who’s dominated the division for the past few years, is nothing “El Pantera” is particularly concerned about.

“I don’t know if I’m the most dangerous or not, but I just think I’m the rival that can change styles, the rival that’s more unpredictable than the rest, the rival that’s going to be the most difficult to compete against,” Rodriguez recently told MMA Junkie.

Yair Rodriguez has the ability to change style

The Mexican featherweight, who comes from a dominant with against Josh Emmett, is one of the most unpredictible fighters around, and especially known for his dangerous kicking game.

“He won’t know if I’m coming out southpaw or orthodox, if I’m going to throw a submission, if I’m going to wrestle. It’s unknown. Often times, these styles are very set in specific ways, you already know what’s coming. I have the ability to change my fighting style to my advantage depending on my opponent. I think that’s what’s going to be difficult for Alexander Volkanovski in this occasion.”

The highly anticipated title unification bout will take place on UFC 290 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Here’s all you need to know about UFC 290!
