In an exclusive interview with Sportsmail, legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather claimed he and MMA superstar Conor McGregor agreed to meet in the ring again. According to “Money” there are just a few small details that still have to be cleared before a fight sometime in 2023.

“We don’t know if it’s going to be an exhibition or a real fight. But there’s been talks of both,” Mayweather said.

The American pugilist won their first fight in Las Vegas, back in 2017, with a TKO in the tenth round, and pushed his record to 50-0. However, this time the-45-year-old former champion preferred an exhibition fight over a competition.

“I am not into fights where I am going to take any real punishment.”

Floyd Mayweather don’t want to hurt himself

Talks and rumors of a rematch between the two superstars have been on and off since their first fight back in 2017. The American boxer reportedly earned 280 million dollars from the superfight, while the Irish MMA fighter banked a reported 130 million dollars.

“So, guys like Conor McGregor and guys that don’t really hit hard such as YouTubers or UFC guys, I don’t really mind colliding with those kinds of individuals but nothing where I am going to put myself in a position where I am going to harm myself or hurt myself,” Mayweather said.

However, McGregor later responded to Mayweather’s statement in an Instagram post with the hashtag “not interested.”
