Gamebred Boxing 4 just took place at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee and featured no less than nine former UFC fighters.
In the main event, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis made his professional boxing debut as he took on former multiple division boxing world champion Roy Jones Jr in front of his hometown Milwaukee crowd.
The 54-year-old Jones Jr seemed to land the cleaner punches, but was outworked by the much younger opponent who eventually won the fight via majority decision.
“He’s a legend of the sport,” Pettis said about Roy Jones Jr after the fight. “I’m going to take it one fight at a time. I’m 1-0 as a pro so I’m excited to see what the future holds. I had a great team behind me and I wanted this.”
The former boxing world champion claimed he wanted a rematch.
“I like to come in and entertain the fans,” Jones Jr said. “I think it was a good fight. He did a great job. I think it would be a really good rematch. I don’t do exhibitions, I fight real fights. At 54 years old, that’s a beautiful thing.”
