Stamp Fairtex won’t get to defend her atomweight title on June 7 against Denice Zamboanga. She’s also forced out of a champion vs. champion bout against ONE strawweight champion Xiong Jingnan on September 6.

“Stamp has undergone surgery for a torn meniscus and is out of her Women’s Atomweight MMA World Title defense against Denice Zamboanga at ONE 167 on Prime Video. We wish Stamp the best in her recovery and will provide an update on her status for the rest of the year in the near future,” ONE Championship wrote on Instagram.

The promotion’s CEO, Chatri Sityodtong, commented on the news on Monday.

It’s kind of sad but at the same time Atlanta is six months away so who knows. Stamp is a super athlete. You never know,” Sityodtong told MMA Fighting.
