Jorge Masvidal takes on Gilbert Burns in barn-burner welterweight fight at UFC 287

Fan favorite Jorge Masvidal is set for his octagon return as he takes on top ranked welterweight Gilbert Burns in a three-round co-main event at UFC 287 in April.

UFC president Dana White who announced the news on Friday.

Former title contender, now No. 11 ranked, Masvidal has been out of action since March 2022 when he lost a unanimous decision to his foe Colby Covington.

Burns, who’s currently ranked at No. 5, comes from a first-round finish against Neil Magny at UFC 283 in Brazil.

Current lineup for UFC 287 in April

UFC 287 will be headlined by a massive middleweight championship bout between rivals Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya.

A venue and location have not yet been announced for the card.
