AAAAAND NEEEEW: Pantoja defeats Moreno via split decision after gruelling fight

Long-time flyweight rivals Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja just clashed in a title fight for the ages.

After five tough rounds of action that very well could have been the best title fight of the year, where Moreno showed proof of his boxing skills and Pantoja had success on the ground, the Brazilian stood as the winner via split decision with 48-47, 48-47 and 46-49 of the scorecards.

Alexandre Pantoja has three wins over Moreno

In the post-fight interview, the Brazilian champion was in tears as his family joined him in the octagon.

”Hey guys, if you know my story you’re going to love me,” Pantoja said.

The new champion also took the chance to give credit to his rival.

”Moreno evolved so much,” Pantoja said.
