Early in the first round, Shoeb Akrami took the fight to the mat. In the beginning of the second round both fighters landed hard shots. Akrami was able to secure a takedown and threatened with a submission attempt. The end of the round turned out to be a full out stand up war.
The war continued in the third and last round where both bantamweights had success. When the fight took to the mat Akrami controlled most of the action.
This was Shoeb Akramis second straight victory as a pro. The Uppsala fighter defeated Fadi Asfar in his last fight, also under the Superior Challenge banner.
“It was tough. I thought I would finish him in the first round,“ Akrami said during the post fight interview. “I’m so tired now.”
