Raul Rosas Jr. defeated Mando Gutierrez via unanimous decision at Dana White’s Contender Series 55 on Tuesday. After the dominant performance, UFC president Dana didn’t hesitate in giving the 17-year-old Mexican a UFC contract.

“What a war, what a technical fight it was,” White said at the post-fight press conference. “Both guys pushed themselves as hard as they could. And for a 17-year-old to conduct himself the way he did in this fight, I was blown away by it. Blown away.”

“I’m very, very impressed with this kid. He’s absolutely special. The amount of fighter that were blowing me up going, ‘Oh my God. This kid is for real. This kid is legit. Impressive.’”

Raul Rosas Jr: ”I will change my family’s life”

At the age of 17 Raul Rosas Jr. Rosa has a goal of becoming the youngest UFC champion ever. Winning the contract at DWCS was a big step in fulfilling his dreams.

“It would mean a lot to me,” Rosas told MMA Junkie before the fight. “I will change my family’s life. I’ll change my life. It would just mean a lot to me. Like I said, I’ll be happy but not satisfied. The goal is that UFC title and to become the youngest UFC champion. I just want that contract to be able to get a step closer to my dream.”
