The feared Brazilian striker Alex ”Poatan” Pereira will fight champion Israel Adesanya for the UFC middleweight strap at UFC 281 on November 12.
Preparing for the highly anticipated title bout, Pereira trains with former light heavyweight challenger Dominick Reyes. And standing next to Reyes, who fights a weight class above, ”Poatan” looks absolutely massive.
Former kickboxing champion Alex Pereira made his UFC debut against Andreas Michailidis in November last year at UFC 268. The Brazilian finished his opponent with a second-round TKO and was awarded with the Performance of the Night bonus.
In March he made his second octagon appearance with a unanimous decision win against fellow Brazilian Bruno Silva, and with his first-round knockout against top ranked Sean Strickland in July, he secured a shot at the title against his bitter rival. For his performance against Strickland, he was awarded with his Performance of the Night bonus.
Israel ”The Last Stylebender” Adesanya defeated challenger Jared Cannonier in his last fight at UFC 276. Since he won and unified the UFC middleweight championship back in October 2019, he defended the belt five times against Yoel Romero, Paulo Costa, Marvin Vettori, Robert Whittaker and Jared Cannonier.
