’The Mauler’ on Khamzat’s health issues: ”It’s crazy how he reacts to the training these days”

Swedish UFC light heavyweight title contender Alexander Gustafsson is a long-time training partner of Khamzat ”Borz” Chimaev. Now, he gives his take on the undefeated star’s recent health issuses.
”The guy gets ill. There is something with his body that reacts to hard training, because he’s the hardest worker in the room. He very easily catches a cold, for example –a runny nose, coughing, symptoms that are not a big deal at all. We all get that. But I’ve seen when he increases his training a lot, I know his body reacts differently to the training. I don’t know where it comes from. It’s crazy how he reacts to the training these days,” Gustafsson said.
Chimaev was supposed to headline UFC Saudi Arabia tonight.

Alexander Gustafsson will be a part of AFN TV-show
UFC light heavyweights Alexander Gustafsson and Volkan Oezdemir will be the two coaches in Swedish MMA promotion Allstars Fight Night’s reality TV-show and MMA tournament ”Road to Glory”.
AFN Road to Glory will start this fall and will be an eight-man tournament that takes place over three events during 2024 and 2025. Weight class and participants are yet to be announced. Both Gustafsson and Oezdemir trains at Allstars Training Center in Stockholm.
