Felipe Lima just made his UFC debut in Saudi Arabia as he took on Muhammad Naimov in the prelims.
A calm and collected Lima started the round with a big kick and a flying knee. In the latter parts of the round, Naimov took the fight to the ground and controlled the action.
Lima was aggressive early with good kicks and good boxing. Naimov ended the round in good fashion.
In the third round, the Swedish-Brazilian stepped on the gas pedal and eventually took the back of Naimov. He caught his opponent in a tight rear-naked-choke that forced Naimov to tap at the 1:15 mark.
“It’s short notice, but I’m professional,” Lima said in his post-fight interview. “I’m always in amazing shape, every day in the gym and I was ready. In the second round, I was a little bit sleeping, but my coach woke me up, and I will get to see my mom.”
