Two massive title fights set for Bellator 290: Fedor’s retirement bout and Romero’s return

Fedor Emelianenko’s career-last fight will be a heavyweight title bout against rival Ryan Bader at Bellator 290. The event will take place on February 4 in California.

Emelianenko and Bader clashed at Bellator 214 in January 2019, in a fight that the American won via a massive knockout, just 35 seconds into the first round. Since then, ”The Last Emperor” has first-round knockout wins over Quintin Jackson and Timothy Johnson.

Bader has defended his title twice in 2022 with wins over Valentin Moldavsky and Cheick Kongo.

Yoel Romero returns to fight for the 205 title

The California card also features a fight between reigning light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov and former UFC middleweight contender Yoel “Soldier of God” Romero.

Last night, Nemkov defended his title with a dominant win over Corey Anderson, and now he will make a quick turnaround to face the 45-year-old veteran at Bellator 290.

Romero has back-to-back stoppage wins against Alex Polizzi and Melvin Manhoef in 2022.

Bellator 290 will air on CBS

Bellator 290 will be broadcasted by CBS, and it will be the first time the promotion hosts an event on the network. The event will also stream on Paramount+.

This is the first time a MMA event will air on CBS since 2010.

So far, the two title bouts are the only fights that have been announced for Bellator 290.
