WBC expels Ryan Garcia after the boxer’s recent racist and Islamophobic slurs on social media.

”Exercising my authority as president of the WBC , I am hereby expelling Ryan Garcia from any activity with our organization. We reject any form of discrimination. I fear for Ryan well being as he has declined multiple attempts for our help with mental health and substance abuse,” WBC CEO Mauricio Sulaiman wrote on X.

Ryan Garcia: “I was trolling”

Garcia later posted an apology on social media.

“I was trolling I want all the killing to stop,” Garcia wrote. “I love everyone sorry if I offended you.”

Last month, the 25-year-old was suspended for a year by the New York State Athletic Commission after he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs. His recent win over Devin Haney would be considered a no-contest.

WBC is the organization with perhaps the most prestigious world title of the four major governing bodies. Boxing stars like Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, Floyd Mayweather, Sugar Ray Leonard have all been WBC champions during the years.
