Complete list: Here’s every 2023 MMA World Championship gold medalist!

Between 20 – 25 November, the MMA World Championships took place in Tirana, Albania, with hundreds of fighters competing for gold and glory, but on 30 eventually standing as MMA World Championship winners.

The tournament held six weight divisions for female athletes, from Atomweight to Lightweight, and ten for male athletes, from Strawweight to Super Heavyweight.

Juniors Women Atomweight: Amy Scully

Amy Scully from Team Ireland became the Juniors Women Atomweight champion by defeating Team Bulgaria’s Stefani Petrova via submission in the finals.

In the semifinals, Scully submitted Gulnaz Abdrakhmanova from Team Kazakhstan.

Juniors Men Strawweight: Bezhan Khojaliev

Bezhan Khojaliev from Team Tajikistan became the Juniors Men Strawweight champion after an impressive string of four wins. In the finals he defeated his countryman Mudasir Saialiev via unanimous decision.

Juniors Women Strawweight: Zhanna Kaskinova

Kazakhstan’s Zhanna Kaskinova secured gold in the Juniors Women Strawweight division by defeating Genevieve Tuson from Team South Africa in the finals.

Kaskinova dominated the tournament with three first-round submission wins.

Juniors Men Flyweight: Yoqubjon Safarov

Yoqubjon Safarov Team Tajikistan became the Juniors Men Flyweight champion by three unanimous decision wins. In the finals he defeated Team Kazakhstan’s Yersultan Shakenbay to earn the gold medal.

Juniors Women Flyweight: Yana Shelemba

Team Ukraine’s Yana Shelemba became the Juniors Women Flyweight champion with three wins, two by stoppage.

In the finals she took on Dinara Ayapova from Team Kazakhstan and was able to deliver an impressive first-round TKO to secure the gold medal.

Juniors Men Bantamweight: Buzurgmehri Saifullozoda

Buzurgmehri Saifullozoda from Team Tajikistan became the Juniur Men Bantamweight champion after a split decision win against Samba Sima from Team France in the finals.

Saifullozoda was scheduled to face Sweden’s Liam Pitts in the eight-finals, however, the Swede was not able to make weight.

Juniors Women Bantamweight: Ines Boulabarj

Team Belgium’s Ines Boulabarj won the Juniors Women Bantamweight gold medal after two unanimous decision wins.

In the finals she defeated Daria Brzozowska from Team Poland with 30-26 on all three judges’ scorecards.

Juniors Men Featherweight: Yurii Kalinchyk

Yurii Kalinchyk from Team Ukraine laid his hands on the Juniors Men Featherweight gold medal after four impressive wins in the tournament.

In the finals he was scheduled to face Jack Humphries from Team England who failed the Med Exam.

Juniors Men Lightweight: Ivan Yushchenko

Ivan Yushchenko from Team Ukraine became the Juniors Men Lightweight champion after defeating his countryman Milan Nikolenko in the finals.

Yushchenko had four wins with one first-round submission win in the 16th-finals.

Juniors Men Welterweight: Gimbat Magomedov

Team Bahrain’s Gimbat Magomedov won the Juniors Men Welterweight gold medal after defeating Oleksandr Huliaiev from Team Ukraine.

The Bahrain fighter won three bouts, one via submission in the eighth-finals against Team Belgium’s Ilias Alikhadjiev.

Juniors Men Middleweight: Rafael Kveldstad

Team Sweden’s Rafael Kveldstad won the Juniors Men Middleweight after a very impressive three-fight winning streak.

Kveldstad had 100% finishing rate during the tournaments, with two Von Flue choke and an arm triangle choke.

Juniors Men Light Heavyweight: Ivan Poremchuk

Ivan Poremchuk from Team Ukraine became the Juniors Men Light Heavyweight champion after three wins.

In the finals he defeated Lukasz Makowski from Team Poland via unanimous decision with 29-28 on all three judges’ scorecards.

Juniors Men Heavyweight: Josyp El Sawy

Josyp El Sawy from Team Germany won the Juniors Men Heavyweight gold medal after two straight stoppage wins.

In the finals he defeated Francisco Javier Escobar Jimenez from Team Mexico via submission.

Juniors Men Super Heavyweight: Dinmukhamed Kuangaliyev

Dinmukhamed Kuangaliyev from Team Kazakhstan got the Juniors Men Super Heavyweight gold since he was the only fighter competing.

Seniors Women Atomweight: Jimena Osorio

Jimena Osorio from Team Uruguay won the Seniors Women Atomweight gold medal when she defeated Vridhi Kumari from Team India via rear-naked-choke.

Seniors Men Strawweight: Vohid Zohidzoda

Team Tajikistan’s Vohid Zohidzoda became the Seniors Men Strawweight champion after three unanimous decision victories, including a win in the finals against Magomed Sheikhov from Team Bahrain.

Seniors Women Strawweight: Giulliany Perea

2021 World medalists Giulliany Perea from Team Brazil returned to action to win the Seniors Women Strawweight gold medal in Albania.

After two stoppage wins, including a KO against Sweden’s Astrid Vikgren, Perea won the finals against Delphine Benouaich from France via split decision with 29-28, 29-28 and 28-29 on the scorecards.

Seniors Men Flyweight: Loiq Ikromov

Team Tajikistan’s Loiq Ikromov entered the competition with a unanimous decision win against Sweden’s Arsen Tughanov in the eight-finals.

He won the Seniors Men Flyweight gold after defeating Alibi Temirtassov from Team Kazakhstan via TKO.

Seniors Women Flyweight: Hanna Palmquist

Hanna Palmquist from Team Sweden became the Seniors Women Flyweight gold medalist after a string of strong performances in the tournament.

After winning the tough final against Team England’s Lauren Reay, the Swede earned a well deserved gold medal.

Seniors Men Bantamweight: Otabek Rajabov

Team Tajikistan’s Otabek Rajabov won the Seniors Men Bantamweight finals against his countryman Akrom Uzakov via unanimous decision.

Rajabov pulled together a string of five impressive wins to finally get the gold medal.

Seniors Women Bantamweight: Josiane Oliveira

Bantamweight Josiane Oliveira claimed her second Senior IMMAF World gold medal as she defeated Sweden’s Millie Eriksson via unanimous decision in the finals.

Oliveira defeated Italy’s Emanuela Scioli and Spain’s Mercedes Custodio Lopez before entering the cage in the final bout.

Seniors Men Featherweight: Elias Erber

Team Austria’s Elias Erber became the Seniors Men Featherweight gold medal after defeating Samgat Shabdan from Team Kazakhstan in the finals.

Erber pulled together three wins via stoppage, and one via a failed weigh in by Yerkebulan Begassyluly from Team Kazakhstan, to reach the finals.

Seniors Women Featherweight: Lisa Zimmo

The tough Lisa Zimmo from Team England won the Seniors Women Featherweight gold medal after two wins via rear-naked-choke. In the finals she defeated Marianna Skuba from Team Ukraine.

Seniors Men Lightweight: Ze Machado

Team Portugal’s Ze Machado Seniors won the Seniors Men Lightweight gold after four wins and one DQ. In the finals he defeated Masud Odinaev from Team Tajikistan via unanimous decision with 27-30, 28-29 and 28-29 on the scorecards.

Seniors Women Lightweight: Fernanda Guersone

Team Brazil’s Fernanda Guersone defeated Gloria Dacosta from Team USA to claim the Seniors Women Lightweight gold medal.

In the semifinals Guersone defeated Mariana Rebori from Team Uruguay via a first-round TKO.

Seniors Men Welterweight: Patrick Habirora

Patrick Habirora from Team Belgium became the Seniors Men Welterweight winner after a string of wins, including a TKO against Team Tajikistan’s Jovidon Mahmudov in the finals.

The 22-year-old also faced Team Sweden’s Sebastian Palacio in the quarter finals.

Seniors Men Middleweight: Qosim Sardorov

Team Tajikistan’s Qosim Sardorov won three fights to become the Seniors Men Middleweight gold medalist.

In the finals he defeated Alvi Dasuyev from Team Belgium via unanimous decision with 30-27 on all three judges’ scorecards.

Seniors Men Light Heavyweight: Gadzhi Gadzhiev

Gadzhi Gadzhiev from Team Bahrain won the Seniors Men Light Heavyweight gold medal after defeating Alik Domnich from Team Kazakhstan via unanimous decision.

All in all, Gadzhiev pulled together four wins, two by stoppage and two by unanimous decision, to claim the gold in Albania.

Seniors Men Heavyweight: Sultan Gapizov

Team Bahrain’s Sultan Gapizov won the Seniors Men Heavyweight gold after stopping Cary Miller from Team USA in the finals.

Only one of Gapizov’s three fights went the distance.

Seniors Men Super Heavyweight: Talgat Zhiyentayev

One of the MMA World Championship winners was Talgat Zhiyentayev from Team Kazakhstan, who took home the Seniors Men Super Heavyweight gold after submitting Team Angola’s Helder Manuel in the finals.

In the semifinals he TKO’d another Angola fighter in Nicklas Helander.
